Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Fort portal
Welcome to the pearl of Africa Uganda. This day you will meet with our Driver Guide who will brief you about this trip, ensures that you have all the hiking gears and transfers you to the western part of Uganda near Rwenzori Mountains passing through the green lands and fresh air in the tea plantations. Later have dinner and overnight in Fortportal at your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer from Fort portal to base camp in Nyakalengijja.
After breakfast, early morning you will be transferred by our guide to the starting point of hiking where you will meet with you mountain guides and porters at Nyakalengijo for a briefing. You will then begin the trail by passing through farmland to the park boundary until you reach Nyabitaba Hut at 2651m. You will be able to see Black and White Colobus monkeys, Blue monkeys, and the brilliant Rwenzori Turaco.
Later have dinner and we will have dinner and spend the night at the hut (Day 1 approximate hiking time: 5-6 hours)

Day 3: Nyabitaba Hut (2651m)to Mubuku River (2600m) and John Matte Hut (3380m)
On this day of hiking you will leave Nyabitaba Hut, trek and pass through the forest to Kurt Schaffer Bridge, just below Mubuku and Bujuku Rivers. After passing through a bamboo forest, you’ll reach a challenging stretch of slippery, moss-covered rocks and you will be able to see Mount Stanley and Mount Speke on a clear day.
Finally, you will reach John Matte Hut for Dinner and spend the night at the hut. (Day 2 approximate hiking time: 6-7 hours).

Day 4: John Matte Hut (3380m) to Bujuku Hut (3962m)
On this day you’ll cross, Bujuku River and enter the Lower Bigo bog, home of the giant lobelias (a purple, flowering plant). Jumping from tussock to tussock–a thick clump of grass–we will cross the bog. On a clear day we will be able to catch a glimpse of Mt Baker to the South and Mt Stanley to the West. You will then reach Bujuko Hut, located in the shadows of Mt Baker and Mt Speke, in a narrow valley below Stuhlmann Pass. Dinner and spend the night at the hut. (Day 3 approximate hiking time: 5-6 hours).

Day 5: Bujuku Hut (3977m) to Elena Hut (4541m)
We will continue our trek through bogs, all the while climbing the steep slopes west of the lake through the magical Groundsel Gully until we ascend to the Scott-Elliott Pass at 4372m. We will continue on to the icy Elena Hut where you will have dinner and overnight. (Day 4 approximate hiking time: 4-5 hours).

Day 6: Elena Hut (4541m) to Margherita peak– Kitandara hut (4027m)
To reach the summit of Margherita, we will climb for 5-7 hours depending on your pace and weather conditions. This extremely challenging climb will take us over three glaciers, slippery rocks, and ice.
After reaching the glaciers, we will cross Stanley Plateau and proceed with our ascent. Finally, and after we’ve acclimatized to the altitude, we will continue in the icy cold up a scramble to the summit of Margherita, the highest peak in the Rwenzoris.
We will return through the Scott-Elliot pass, where we will be delighted with spectacular views, then continue our descent to Kitandara, passing through an alpine zone of sparse vegetation and rough boulders. Later have dinner and spend the night at the hut. (Day 5 approximate hiking time: 7+ hours).

Day 7: Elena Hut (4541m) to Margherita peak– Kitandara hut (4027m)
From Kitandara Hut, we will continue along the south side of the mountain to Fresh Field Pass. At this point, we should be able to see into the Congo to the west and Mt. Stanley to the north. From the pass, we will take the long trail past a rock shelter at Bujongolo to the base camp for the historic expedition by the Duke of Abruzzi in 1906. We will have dinner and spend the night at Guy Yeoman hut. (Day 6 approximate hiking time: 5-6 hours).

Day 8: Guy Yeoman Hut (3450m) to Nyakalengija (1615m)
On this day, we will descend from Guy Yeoman Hut to Nyakalengija Hut our starting point. We will descend past the cliffs of Kichuchu, follow a muddy path to cross the Mubuku River and complete our summit. On arrival at the camp you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel too relax. ( Approximate hiking time: 6-7 hours).

Day 9: Transfer to Fort Portal and Visit Crater Lakes
After your breakfast, you will be transferred to Fort Portal the Uganda’s tourism city where you will visit the beautiful craters and Amabere Ganyinamwiru caves. At the caves you can have a quick bath in the water falls after the historical and Geographical lecture of the site.
Later have lunch and relax at your hotel.

Day 10: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe/Rwanda Uganda Boarder
This will be your last day in the western Uganda. You will be transferred back to your next destination as stated in the itinerary or as customized.
